Alkaline ionized water is water that has been electrically separated into alkaline and acidic components using a water ionizer. The alkaline stream has a pH typically between 8.5 and 11 and contains beneficial minerals like calcium, magnesium, sodium and potassium ions. Because electrolysis simply separates ions already present in the source water, no chemicals are added during the process.
On the pH scale, values above 7 are alkaline while values below 7 are acidic. Holy Elixir products are carefully formulated within this alkaline range to deliver a smooth, refreshing taste.
Ionized alkaline water is created using an electrolysis chamber that purifies the water and then separates minerals into acidic and alkaline fractions, producing a stable, ionic form of alkalinity. In contrast, many alkaline filter systems rely on cartridges filled with alkaline compounds that dissolve into the water. These additives can deplete over time and may introduce synthetic chemicals into your drink.
Holy Elixir uses advanced ionizers to deliver clean, ionic alkaline water without adding artificial pH‑raising compounds.
General health guidelines recommend that women consume about 2.7 litres (11.5 cups) of fluids per day and men about 3.7 litres (15.5 cups). Your needs depend on factors like activity level, climate and overall health. Many people find that drinking 8–10 glasses of water daily (about 30–40 ml per kg of body weight) keeps them comfortably hydrated.
Because alkaline water is hydrating and mineral‑rich, it can form part of your daily fluid intake. Listen to your body and adjust as needed to stay well hydrated.
When you first begin using an ionizer, start at the lowest alkaline setting (around pH 8). After a week you can gradually increase the pH to levels around 9–9.5 as your body adjusts. Most people settle comfortably between pH 9 and pH 10 for daily drinking, but personal preference is key. Holy Elixir ionizers offer four distinct pH levels so you can tailor your water to your taste and wellbeing.
Yes. Many users describe alkaline ionized water as having a smoother mouthfeel and a slight natural sweetness compared to regular tap water. Because the electrolysis process removes acidic impurities and enhances beneficial minerals, the resulting water tastes fresh and crisp without any metallic or chlorinated notes.
Alkaline ionized water is best enjoyed fresh, as its ionic properties gradually diminish over time. If you need to store it, use a glass bottle with a tight‑fitting lid and keep it away from sunlight and heat. For optimal taste and efficacy, consume your stored water within three days.
Even after several weeks, stored alkaline water remains safe to drink—it simply loses some of its ionization and may taste flatter.
Use a clean glass bottle with a lid and rinse it periodically with acidic water or vinegar to remove any calcium deposits. Store your water in a cool, dark place to minimise exposure to sunlight and heat. Over time you may notice small white flakes forming on the glass—these are harmless calcium crystals that can be removed by soaking the bottle in vinegar.
Reverse osmosis (RO) and distillation remove almost all minerals from water, leaving it extremely low in dissolved solids. Because minerals contribute to the electrical conductivity of water, RO and distilled water are non‑conductive and can taste flat. The World Health Organization notes that demineralised water can contribute to a deficit of essential electrolytes over time. In contrast, alkaline ionized water retains and enhances naturally occurring minerals, providing beneficial calcium, magnesium and potassium alongside a pleasant taste.
For this reason, RO or distilled water is often recommended only for short‑term use (for appliances or specialised diets), whereas mineral‑rich alkaline water is suited for daily consumption.
Your stomach maintains an acidic environment (around pH 4) to aid digestion and kill harmful microbes. When you drink alkaline water with a higher pH, the stomach temporarily becomes less acidic. In response, the stomach produces more hydrochloric acid to restore its normal pH. Many people therefore prefer to drink alkaline water at least 20 minutes before eating. Some evidence suggests that alkaline water may help relieve occasional acid reflux.
We recommend starting your day with a glass of alkaline water to rehydrate after sleep, then spacing additional glasses between meals to complement digestion.
